Introduction
Goal Metrics are created for a goal to measure the progress of a Goal. Goal Metric and Rollup query field have the parental relationship, so all the operations on the parent record are broadcasted to child record.
Let’s Get started
Before creating goal metrics, please refer our blog for “create and edit rollup query in dynamics 365”. To do this task you must have security rights.
- To begin with, navigate to service > Goal metrics> select New in the ribbon bar.

Fill the fields Name as “customer satisfaction rating” as we are calculating the customer satisfaction in the Goal and metric type as count as we are calculating the rating. And save this record.
- Click in rollup fields to add new rollup field as shown in the below screenshot:

Click Save & Close to close the form.
Now Navigate to Service > Goals, open the Customer Satisfaction Goal as I have already created in previous blog. And select goal metric as "customer satisfaction rating" as goal is not complete without it and Goal Criteria in the end of the form as shown in below the screenshots. Then save & close it.

- To rollup the query, select the goal and click the Recalculate button on the ribbon to check the goal metric.
- This way you can successfully create a Goal Metric and applied it to a Goal.
Conclusion
It’s easiest way to measure progress towards any Goal.
